December Lo Down

Welcome to the December Lo Down!

I hope your December is off to a great start and that you’re managing to keep warm.

At our house today we’re finally almost done decorating for the holidays…now that we’re only 17 days away from Christmas! Better late than never, right?

In other news, I have some fun holiday recipes coming to ZK this month, including a few holiday cookies, Stollen Biscotti, festive appetizers and more. Keep an eye on Instagram and Facebook for recipe updates!

What I’m listening to:

Album: Glow (Deluxe) By Brett Eldredge

Now I know we aren’t all country music fans. I get it. But this holiday album from country singer Brett Eldredge offers a holiday ballad that’s somewhat resemblant of Michael Bublé and Frank Sinatra—no twang.

What I’m watching:

Parenthood (on Netflix)

I realize I’m really behind the ball on this one. But I just finished up the last season of Parenthood on Netflix (it originally aired on NBC from 2010–2015) and damn, I think I’m still crying.

The Berkeley-based story is one of family dynamics, the challenges of raising children, and the many trials and tribulations of marriage. Over the course of six seasons you get to know the close-knit Braverman family through yelling matches, family dinners, fights and dancing.

If you like This is Us, then this show might be for you.

What I’m Snacking on:

I’ve recently been enjoying milk and cookies. Yes, you read that right!

I’ve been working on developing a new Cookies ‘n Milk menu for you and it’s got me eating way too much sugar! Keep an eye out next week because I’ll be sharing two new recipes for Vegan Eggnog and Eggnog Snickerdoodles.

Recipe Throwback:

Fig Infused Bourbon

Incredibly simple to make, this Fig Infused Bourbon packs some major flavor. Delicious as is, this bourbon also makes a great addition to many winter drinks and pairs well with anything vanilla. | Zestful Kitchen

This rich infused bourbon is the perfect drink to sip by the fire this holiday season. Full-bodied and festive, it’s wonderful simply served over ice.

Happy Holidays!
