how to make a

SWEDISH

TEA RING

a yeasted + enriched dough filled with a creamy almond paste and apricot filling. the perfect holiday breakfast!

a yeasted dough enriched with milk, butter, egg yolks + honey.

typically Swedish tea rings are spiced with cardamom and filled with dried fruit, almond paste, nuts, and/or cream cheese.

we're using almond paste, cream cheese, apricot jam and salt. Then we'll fold in diced dried apricots.

divide dough in half (this makes 2 tea rings). Roll out one of the pieces into a long rectangle. Spread 1/2 of the filling along the length of the rectangle then roll the dough into a cylinder.

form the dough into a ring, then cut slits along the ring (keep the center intact) then twist each section of dough.

the filled and formed ring will rise once more, then get brushed with egg white, baked and drizzled with a cream cheese icing.

a great alternative to classic cinnamon rolls or coffee cake!
