Ingredients
kosher salt + lime wedges
2ouncesblanco tequila
1½ouncescherry juice
1ounceLuxardo cherry liqueur
½ouncefresh lime juice
Instructions
Rim a rocks glass with ice by running a lime wedge around rim and dipping it in kosher salt. Fill glass with ice.
Add 2 ounces tequila, 1½ ounces tart cherry juice, 1 ounce cherry liqueur, and ½ ounce lime juice to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Secure shaker well (cherry juice will stain!) and shake until chilled.
Strain cherry margarita over ice in prepared glass and garnish with a lime wedge.
Since margaritas are meant to be tart, it's important to use tart cherry juice. Look for it in glass containers in the juice aisle. Make sure it only has two ingredients—tart cherry juice and water. If you don't have or don't want to purchase cherry liqueur, replace the liqueur with half the amount of simple syrup.
