Description

This Air Fryer Ribeye Steak is perfectly charred on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. Made in just 10 minutes, it's the best way to cook steak inside especially during those warm summer months.

Ingredients

  • 2 (1 to 2-inch-thick) ribeye steaks
  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 400ºF.
  • Pat steaks dry with paper towels and season with 1 teaspoon salt.
  • Place one steak in air fryer basket and cook until browned and an instant read thermometer inserted in center registers 120-125ºF for medium rare or 130-135ºF for medium, 8–12 minutes. Repeat with second steak.
  • Transfer steaks to a plate and tent with foil. Let rest for 10 minutes.
  • Slice steak and serve as desired.

Equipment

Notes

Storing:
  • Fridge: Store steak in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350ºF oven until warmed through, or on the stove in a skillet over medium heat. You can always microwave the steak, too, just be careful not to overcook it.
  • Freezer: Freezing steak isn't ideal, as it can change it's texture and flavor slightly, but if you need to, freeze in an air-tight, freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before you're ready to serve, and reheat in the oven, stovetop or microwave.
Temperatures to cook steak to:
  • Rare: 125ºF, 4-6 minutes
  • Medium-Rare: 130-135ºF, 6-8 minutes
  • Medium: 145ºF, 8-10 minutes
  • Well Done: 160ºF, 12-14 minutes
Tips:
  • Bring Steak To Room Temperature: For the best flavor and texture, allow steak to come to room temperature 30 minutes before cooking. Avoid going straight from the fridge, to the air fryer with a very cold steak.
  • Thickness Matters: We recommend using steaks that are at least 1 inch thick. Anything thinner is likely to overcook and become tough and chewy.
  • Pat Steak Dry: Always do this with a paper towel before seasoning and cooking. This will ensure the seasoning sticks, and the steaks brown nicely
  • Don't Overcrowd Air Fryer Basket: Cook one steak at a time to allow even cooking and browning on all sides. Don't try to jam in more than one at time - cook in batches, instead. It's worth it, trust us.
  • Let Steak Rest: Always take at least 10 minutes to let steak rest before slicing. This way, the steak will remain juicy. If you slice it too early, you'll lose all of those juices and flavor.
