This Gin and Juice Cocktail recipe is an easy and refreshing spin on the classic. Made with floral gin, fruit juice (I use clementine juice!), and club soda. It’s no wonder this cocktail is so popular—versatile, easy to shake up and as classic as Snoop.

This Gin and Juice Cocktail is an oldie but a goodie. It’s made with just two main ingredients along with a dash of sweetener and some club soda for effervescence. It’s a classic (college) party cocktail, but when you use clementine juice (instead of cheap bottled juice) it becomes a bit more refined and worthy of your 30s.

Using piney, bright gin and sweet clementine juice, this Gin and Juice Cocktail is easy to make and even easier to drink. The perfect last-minute happy hour drink!

Before we get into it, if you like a classic cocktail recipe, be sure to try some of my other favorite cocktails where gin is the star ingredient. My Blackberry Gin Smash is a fruity take on a classic, and is downright gorgeous. Or master the gin gimlet and gin rickey—both are crazy simple and good cocktails to have in your arsenal.

Ingredient Notes

  • Gin: use your favorite gin—no hard or fast rule here. I prefer a London dry gin but I also love a California Dry Gin (such as Future Gin).
  • Juice: Use an orange or grapefruit juice here. My favorite is clementine juice—it’s something different, not too tart and wonderfully flavorful.
  • Agave Syrup: just a dash is needed to balance the flavors of the drink. You can also use simple syrup.
  • Club Soda: an optional addition that adds a little fizz and sparkle to the drink.

An Incredibly Simple Cocktail to Make

  1. Combine the gin, juice, and agave syrup in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  2. Shake vigorously until the cocktail is chilled, then pour it into a rocks glass.
  3. Add more ice as needed and finish with a splash of club soda.

Tips & variations

This cocktail is delicious as is and pretty foolproof, but one of the best parts about this drink is you can play mixologist and give it your own twist.

  • Try Different Juices. Change the flavor profile by using different juices—try a variety of fresh squeezed oranges or opt for grapefruit juice (which will give you Greyhound vibes).
  • Experiment with Gins. Different gins have different flavors; change the base flavor of this drink by using a pinier gin or a more citrusy-forward gin.
  • Add Extra Citrus. Feel free to add in some freshly squeezed lime or lemon juice if you prefer a more tart drink.

Batch the Cocktail

Make a few batches of this cocktail ahead of time so you aren’t playing bartender all night. Simply multiply the cocktail by number of drinks you want to make and combine everything in a pitcher (hold the club soda and ice until serving). Bonus, you won’t have to dirty a shaker.

For a batch of 4 cocktails, combine: ¾ cup gin, 2 cups clementine juice and 4 teaspoons agave.
